No point in debating whether BBW is or isn't a fad. If it was a fad, the fad is over.
Press, TV, Blogs, Oprah (LOL)...NO ONE is talking about Build-a-bear ANYWHERE this Christmas season. Aside from a few small town newspaper articles ("Sick Orphan Gets Gift Bear" or the like), seems BBW is being forgotten.
Anyone care to disagree? I've been scanning Google News everyday, and there's nothing about BBW. Plenty of lists of hot Christmas things or top-ten most wanted toys. BBW can't be found among them.
Replying to the top message: Only people who thought there was a fad in the first place are stunned by the absence of the attributes of a fad today. It wasn't; it isn't; it's the news equivalent of a "Man Doesn't Bite Dog" story.
>>Are they doing much TV advertising? I haven't been watching much TV lately, but haven't seen any commercials for BBW.<<
I am usually stuck watching the Disney Channel, Animal Planet, and Cartoon Network with my daughter. I have seen many Rudolph and Clarice commercials and a few others on Animal Planet etc. Also, they run all of the time on the Disney radio network.
