Why are oil companies so interested in this technology?

      • No huge selloff this week. Does that mean the naked shorts are nervous?

        Still:
        1. Profitable quarter.
        2. Product on the shelves.
        3. Multiple patents protecting intellectual property.
        4. B2B contracts.
        5. US Government Phase II contract and a spec for a battery out there that looks like it was written by mPhase.

I have no doubt in my mind that it (the mPhase battery) would be great backup power technology for subsea BOP stacks. Lithium chemistry provides the basis for great energy...by virtue of it's place on the Periodic Table.

The mPhase battery in a manual configuration would be a last ditch power relibable high-power supply actuated by ROV and one configured for electrical actuation for surface initiation.

They do need to get into this market by contacting Cameron, who supplies 80% of the subsea BOP's.

      • LOL!!! You poor suckers.

    • czp,
thanks for bringing this to attention.
      Good job.

I think it would be great and it does fill a niche'. I would think mPhase could sell their battery for $20k (about 1 days rental) each if they developed this market.

    • CZP first and only post:
<< Why are oil companies so interested in this technology?>>

Answer: they aren't and you have ZERO proof to the contrary.

      • rasta,
        thank you,
        good info.

      • The ROCKER alias...aka RASTAMAUN (who no longer writes with the Jamaican spelling)

        NEWSFLASH for the pumper:
Durando was referencing the porous membrane (NOT the battery per se) when he teased with the POSSIBLE future applications (in the OIL INDUSTRY) being used to separate oil from water in the FLUFF PR. He's jumping on the BP oil spill band wagon for his own benefit....shame on him.

So you referencing the BATTERY for the OIL INDUSTRY is the same methodology, used by DURANDO, for a situation that wasn't even spoken about by him...much less exists. BTW, the battery outputs 1.3 volts so I highly doubt it's going to power much of anything for a "high-power supply"....much less get rented for "$20K (about a 1 days rental)".

BTW, hot shot, "if they developed this market"....how long would that take? It took Costner and his brother over 11 years to develop the centrifuge being use to separate oil from water. mPhake has been around since 1996 and they are still doing the same thing….selling stock as a business.

Give it a rest....oh, and shame on you.

    • I don't know !!!

      Ask BP !!!
