Based on everything I've read both sides made mistakes here, it looks like we are in an ego battle between the Cooper and Apollo management. I have had business dealings with people from Apollo's home country. They can be annoying, arrogant, and borderline insulting, but they will do the deal if they see an opportunity to make money.
With the labor unrest in China still unresolved the lawsuit with Apollo having the stronger hand this looks like about 20-24 bucks. No other "White Knight" will touch a legal mess until its solved in all countries concerned. No upside here and 5 bucks downside, great short!!
They have a good business. Tend to it. This fiasco is blowing up. I am sure glad I sold my long term position. Still have a sizable stake for a little guy bought to stem the shorts shortly before the buyout announcement.
I cannot believe CTB's lack of depth to fight an issue like this.
Get the hell out of China and move manefacture to Vietnam or any where else wher thetre is soome respect for property. If the Chinese are as shifty as implied by their government's tolerance of the union grab, they are no better than our courts which is already plenty.
I do not know the details of the US case, but to let two factory unions interfere with property rights to this tune is just crazy. Does that junior judge know how much money he burnt with his opinion? Is he liable for at least a fraction of the width of his mouth?
If this stands and no censure or reprimand catches his behind we are no better than China.
Just like in Boxing "defend yourself at all times" there is no justice or police.
