    Really Dumb Question but...

So if this drug is said to increase the risk of Blood Clotting couldn't it be used with another drug that would reduce blood clotting. I don't profess to know anything about medicine or drugs but aren't there drugs out there that reduce blood clots? what is the likelyhood of that type of scenrio?

It's not about "risk" anymore - it's about documented reports of clotting, including heart attack and death:

"FDA is investigating an increasing frequency of reports of serious and life-threatening blood clots and severe narrowing of blood vessels of patients taking ponatinib ... including heart attacks resulting in death, worsening coronary artery disease, stroke, narrowing of large arteries of the brain, severe narrowing of blood vessels in the extremities, and the need for urgent surgical procedures to restore blood flow."

It's game over for this drug.

    • But then there would have to be tests to see what would happen with mixture of drugs and that would take another 4-5 years of testing. This is why the stock is dropping. The original indication will most like be pulled or dramatically lessened as far as possible future revenues. Also, the longer people are on this drug, does it get even worse?
      No one knows....

    • Not a dumb question at all.

But it will take time for the experts to try an figure this type stuff out. So not much point in us amatures trying to speculate on it.
