Below I could not properly post the link to the article here is the actual link
I think as I said above this is a big short position. Nike, Addidas, Gap are direct competitors.
Yoga could even be a fad. Who is to say it isn't? Even if it isn't the competition is immense.
So get ready for the stock to drop.
Your right, I don't understand most everything you say....for fun let's review:
-"By the way, you could go to Ross or Marshalls and buy that same Under Armor shirt of yours for 10-12 bucks, good job Hero!"
Shoot I hope I didn't overpay, I'm not a hero but I don't like to overpay for my stocks or my clothes if it isn't warranted.
-"I'd compare UA to Starter for quality and comfort as would most everyone else with a pulse."
I disagree but let's talk about lulu.
-Let's see just how different and unique these lulu products are:
Gee this don't look anything like Under Armour...lol
Oh, and this one is real pretty...
and it is unique 'cause it's got that cute little female logo on the back!!!
-"The clothes they make for guys are actually guys clothes(imagine that)."
Ummm they are called, lulu lemon athletica, nope, can't imagine that.... (see above)
-"you'd quickly find 2 people that compared LULU to the Gap..."
Good for them, I do my own research. There are also many posts that make excellent comparisons and dig deeper than you care to acknowledge. Better yet just read the Risk Factors section of the 10-Q, oh wait you don't care about the stock....gee I thought that's what this message board was for? I must be the one misunderstanding things again....
-"I was tired of dip@#$%s like yourself who are comparing apples to oranges."
Austin, please show, if you can.
-"In the long run, the fate will be decided by the marketing of this product line and if the board stays with the yoga theme only, I can't see this stock going much further."
Wait, I thought you said this was really catching on for guys? If you did your homework you would know that they don't spend money on marketing, they rely on word of mouth from lulu lovers like you....I thought you didn't have an opinion on the stock...
-"Basic knowledge like yours dictates this stock should start to drop more than what the charts show."
I guess, whatever... You must have such "advanced knowledge" that I don't understand what you are saying but that fits because you spend more money on clothes than I do....
-Sorry you got your expensive athletic panties in such a wad- it is real simple;
you stated that Lulu lemon athletica is catching on w/ guys and that it is a unique product, I think it isn't.....
At least I have the balls to state my sell position and yeah this "knuckle-head" has been correct and made $$$ for the last 2 weeks....
Well, i think you misunderstood most everything i was saying, but i can reiterate. I was stating the combination of 3 items that make it a quality product, not just one. I've bought Under Armor(UA)before and wouldn't buy one again. By the way, you could go to Ross or Marshalls and buy that same Under Armor shirt of yours for 10-12 bucks, good job Hero! It isn't any better than anything Nike has out and i'd prefer Nike to UA any day. I'd compare UA to Starter for quality and comfort as would most everyone else with a pulse. I haven't had a UA last more than 3 washes before degrading to crap. So far, I haven't tossed one LULU item and some have over 50 washes on them easy. If you ever read a clothing tag, you'll find many of theirs giving a guarantee on the products life-cycle. BTW, nice try on the "Counting you, that makes 2 guys who wear their wives clothes" bit. A mediocre put down at best. You'll have to hone your "knuckle-head" skills a bit more. The clothes they make for guys are actually guys clothes(imagine that). If you ever try marathon running, you'll find people who use the product(guys and girls).
Read some of these messages on the Board and you'd quickly find 2 people that compared LULU to the Gap, one that gave a link that compared it; that will be your homework assignment.
Have you tried any of LULU's items or are you just trolling for the short? I was pretty clear on my position. I was not trying to give a compelling case for either side. I was tired of dipshits like yourself who are comparing apples to oranges. In the long run, the fate will be decided by the marketing of this product line and if the board stays with the yoga theme only, I can't see this stock going much further. If the stock stagnates for too long while having this P/E ratio, people will start to abandon ship in droves.
I'd be overjoyed to see this stock hit $2 or $100, doesn't matter either way. If you read stocks like you read comments, you are better off having someone else invest for you. I'll give you credit tho, minus all the positive news on the stock today your position would be great for the rest of the week. I wish you and the rest of the shorters posting here the best of luck. Basic knowledge like yours dictates this stock should start to drop more than what the charts show.
Just beacause you know one husband who isn't paying attention to what is wife is making him wear does not mean that "lululemon is catching on for guys." Counting you, that makes 2 guys who wear their wives clothes, at least in public. Most guys are not going to wear something called lulu lemon athletica. Could it sound older, fatter or more feminine? The fact that they don't have large sizes probably just means that there are some larger ladies buying some of this stuff beacuse they think it makes them hot.....you decide.
You couldn't be more wrong about the antimicrobial claim. Every major athletic apparel maker has that technology and Under Armour is one of the best. I just got a nice button down shirt yesterday from UA and it has odor guard, wick away moisture and is the best fitting most comfortable shirt I have and it was on sale for $35 from $50. (You say you aren't a rich man and spending $70 for a T-shirt is good way to make sure you won't ever be.) IMO, it is an absolute crazy delusional dream to think that a women's fashion retailer will ever catch on w/ men. Who ever said anything about Gap?
Oh, and they have not carved out a niche, that would imply that they have a unique product, they don't. What they have is a fad that will be heavily eroded by Nike, Reebok, Adidas, Under Armour and many others. Under Armour is in fact a perfect example. A few years back that had a fad too and today the stock is 1/2 the price it was at its high as there is now vast competition for the type of products they make no matter how good or expensive they are....
I will give you credit for trying, as there have been zero compelling posters on here stating even a semblance of a good long case....
It did not hit an inflection point...it is still at a buy point, descent volume and will be strong through the end of the quarter, then, perhaps, depending on results, it may drop.
