The high end consumer is still alive !
It took a MARKET MELT DOWN to get LULU's stock to correct, BUT it will be among the first to recover when the Market comes back.
If you are a doomsday investor -- sell Your LULU and buy GOLD and HOLD CASH....but if you believe these record LOW interest rates will drive Businesses and Consumers to spend again, LULU will be a great investment.
Thwackamole - I don't think that your idea of "inherent value" has anything to do with the success or failure of any company, product, service or stock. If your buy a new car today - or even a new IPAD . . . in 10 year - what will it be worth . . . about the same as the old pair of yoga pants. People spend money on alot of things - some makes sense, some don't (also depends who's definition of "makes sense").
Your first comment about Gold/Silver Prices made me think. So I ran a chart comparing GLD to LULU - you may be surprised. Except for very recently - LULU has outperformed the GOLD ETF in the past 6 months, YTD, 1 year, 2 years, and even 5 years. Same with Silver.
