    • I just went to the SPANX USA website and checked out what they got... like they said, they are into making women with muffin tops, cottage cheese and other jello flab thighs looks barely not gross... or what they called "shape wear"... I checked out their "Active Wear" section, and the selection and style they got are so tiny and ugly looking... they looked like they are designed to make a woman "look" active and sporty, put they can hardly be compared with Lululemon as "high performance" athletic wear on quality, fit, longevity, and styles, yet they are all priced similar to LULU's price range of around $100 a piece!

    • So wrong, Spank is an accessory line with only a few items that pertain to LULU and the quality is not there. Spanx is nothing compared to LULU. Would not make a foot note in an annual report.

      • I seemed to have touched a nerve. Spanx is for athletic women as well as big women. Most women have a little "cellulite", even those in their 20s.

      • You are probably right that Spanx isn't a threat to LULU except around the edges. But in aggregate, there are a number of competitors who are picking of small slices of LULU's assumed future growth:

        Athleta: slightly cheaper, slightly older customers
        Spanx: less svelte customers (lulu has quietly begun producing slightly larger sizes)
        Lole: More winter sports oriented customers
        Lucy: younger customers
        etc.

        The market is becoming more segmented...
