Lululemon Athletica Inc. Message Board

  • eringotlieb eringotlieb Aug 14, 2014 8:22 AM Flag

SELL Lululemon NOW! You need to understand what's going on.

The shorts are painting the tape by literally trading with themselves. Greater than 70% of Lululemon's stock trading volume is just two computers trading the same shares back and forth. You need to understand this. When allowed to do this, they can move the price anywhere. The only time it doesn't work is when there is actual heavy volume on news, otherwise, they can move the price up or down at will.

They are short big time, therefore they are choosing to push the price down. They are just painting the tape.

SELL! You can't win when this type of manipulation is going on. The only hope was for Chip to make a deal to take the company private. Goldman Sachs knows this too.

    Sell!

    Love
    Erin

    • erin's advice on this board has been correct exactly 0% of the time. ignore this liar! erin said that last quarter earnings would be blowout, and the stock dropped 14%. after that she claimed that she was going to move the price of the stock with a 6K ira account. after looking at erin's posts, i don't think she is delusional, only a liar. she wants you to sell now, probably works for a short or will somehow profit by your selling.

i dont disagree that the short sellers are running the price of the company short term. but advent is buying at $42 a share and they will be happy to buy up lots of shares at any price below that. the shorts have about one month until that deal closes. at that time chip will have another $870 million in cash and if he wants he can just buy back shares and advent will start buying shares too. lulu might be driven down in the meantime, but with the sale to advent, the future price is almost guaranteed to be higher. it might take 6 months or a year, but advent knows that they can burn the short sellers out of their positions. don't give the shorts your shares. they are stuck and can only win if you get scared and sell. once the shorts are creamed, the price will be 60 or 70 a share - just like what happened with netflix. smart investing requires some short term pain.
