IBM is sending jobs overseas VERY FAST

Hard to hate the layoffs and love the profits. As for lower payroll costs always meaning lower quality, that depends on IBM ability to locate, train and manage talent, be it in India or Indiana. I have confidence in IBM to do just that. There is a awful lot of talented, well-trained and motivated folks in India, China, etc. If you lament that they not American you do not have an investor problem, you have a xenophobic problem

Ok - despite what I said in my earlier post, YOU SIR ARE SMOKING SOMETHING GOOD. IBM does not spend much on training. Most of the offshore "talent" would not get past the first round of cuts in the International version of "IBM's got talent".

But then again, what's the difference between hiring newbies offshore vs newbies onshore? (Answer: American onshore newbies are usually more ambitious.)

As someone once told me, the only thing worse than training your people and having them leave for a better job is...not training them and having them stay. There's lot of the later at IBM - onshore and offshore.
