Dear Yield. Nothing on these message boards affects a company ever. So have your little hissy fit. Everybody posts business facts and opinions and usually go for personal attack whenever everything else fails. So whatever I write or you write means nothing, but screwing their sales force will have an impact over time.
That shows how desperate IBM is to keep their ponzi scheme going on their stock .They are desperate to offset slowing sales growth by cutting expenses to the bone and even failing to pay their staff . They even got Buffet drawn into the scam which I feel was partly due to pressure from Bernanke to give more life to his plan to march the DOW up to new highs . Why ? Because Bernanke has this strange idea in his head that the only cause of the great depression was a crashing stockmarket . He doesn't realise the many other factors involved such as the huge credit bubble the US has been in for 50 years which culminated in the largest blow off top in housing in its history . That had so many other negative factors Construction boom /bust , housing ATM , consumer bubble in cars , overproduction in consumer goods . Over production in the shipping industry still being felt as the BDI indicates . Since IBM has a weighting to the DOW of 11.3% it has the biggest effect on the DOW reading of any of the 30 stocks Conclusion , IBM is one of the biggest scams in US history
One mis-thought too. Sales reps can quit and move onto a more productive environment which the article says many are doing, so IBM is losing an asset that is skilled in getting it more assets. Customers, too, can go elsewhere as in Dell or HP.
