per ceo
does that mean they're getting out of the meat scale business too?
no, just punched-card time clocks for their slave employees
they did make items for HITLER look it up
are you sure ??????????????????
Naaahh, he's talking out his butt.
do you have a link for this? I just came back from a trip so I'm not aware of this 'hot' news.
that is INSIDE information (yes that is true)
lol no.
You mean John Opel , right ... IBM"S decision to exit hardware goes back to mid 80's .....
once the margins shrink on mainframes / servers , that production will get jobbed out .... they'll make
the chips , and continue with heavy R&D .....
while they never announce such , there should soon be a huge cost reduction in big iron , as the
chip packing completes the migration to organic packaging for the powerful chips .. should be
coming in the next 2 years .... that may save what remnants of hardware IBM currently has ...
but really , IBM could do quite well by just giving away the hardware and providing software / services ...
Once IBM gets a real handle on the carbon nanotubes , you will probably see IBM build their
own massive center , run from the cloud , and finally acheive 40 years of vision ... making computing
a utility ...
Actually the opposite is happening. Two or three companies will be selling the entire stack from hardware to application software and everything in between including services.
Sentiment: Buy
In the beginning IBM gave away software to support the mainframe business - now it's close to be turned upside down: giving away mainframes to support the software/service business.
IBM will never give up the mainframe business because it is a vital vitamin for the rest of the business.
yeah that is the real deal
