Little by little benefits such as matching 401K employee contributions each pay period, now only yearly so employee account growth will be smaller. lower matching on all fronts. Workforce being off shored at a VERY accelerated rate. Employee morale VERY low....anything can be sacrificed for mgmt quarterly bonuses. IBM has sunk to profit at any cost.

really? Where the $%^& have you been?
yes ... and you and union people live to see companies go out of business ... profit at any cost ?? NO ..
but companies are not in business for you or any other employee .. just a fact of life , but back in
the day before there were companies , it was a lot worse .... so what is your complaint ?? if it's
hemmoroids , there are fixes available ...
Good day cacacgtcaa and frontdude,
I'm quiet sure you both are the product of company management worship and a perfect example of message board cookery and other type of fake outs. If not, you should be. No intellectualism required. Just pucker up real good.
Quotes54 is right on the money and it's VERY bad.
No kool-aid for me.. Thanks
Cheers

I worked for IBM 1966 to 1977 and had a great time. The ESOP is cranking out some great cash now that Warren is our buddy and the 4/1 split in 1980. Never sold any yet but Obama will have his hand out big time when I do hahah.
I think most IBM employees with a 401K are doing pretty well. They'd probably rather have the job security and stock growth over the small difference this makes. I have my 401K wholly invested in the IBM stock fund - I like the $10 hike today much better.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Anyone who has their 401(k) wholly invested in their company's stock needs to have their head examined. I'm sure the MoneySmart people would not approve. 5-10% of your total overall portfolio (including ESPP shares) would be the the prudent choice.

I do the same thing I also like to have the dividend sent to me in a check from fidelity.
