If you want to set up the market for some short term trading profits then you want to hit Dow stocks that sell at a very high dollar price. IBM is the poster child for this. A very small percentage change in the stocks price has a disproportinate effect on the Dow Jones Avr. It easy to come up with some "probably" or "what if" story to base a down grade on. The money wont be made trading IBM. The traders will flock to shares like Ford that sell at low prices on high volume. You can make some quick bucks there where a small move is a significant percentage of the share price. We see these games being played constantly. I agree with those who advise you to get out of IBM if you have a time horizon of less than a few years. You will be getting whip sawed constantly. WW
