500K in quarterly sales is not enough for me

They missed earnings by 2 cents (-81) compared to projection of (-79).

Pharmaceuticals are like oil fields, everything is based on future potential a lot more than say "retail." Book value is less important.

If they get a good product they get a good merger or buyout.

    • I've gone through every conference call and news releases I could from the past several years to "look for reasons" to invest as well. The four most relevant pieces of information to me right now:

      1. They always said (from the beginning) that it'd take 6-8 quarters to launch Qutenza. They are in the quarter 6 or 7 right now.

      2. Their earnings were $100,000 in USA last quarter and $500,000 this quarter. That is pretty good. If they start achieving critical mass, this could go to 5 million a quarter pretty easily.

      3. They have several news events coming up in the next 6 months or so.

      4. Big money came in at $1.75 or more.....that's a pretty good floor.

So I see nothing in the earnings to suggest that people should bail out (like DNDN for example.) Today may prove a buying opportunity....

    • I agree with your points. A buyout now would be well received.

This statement appears to be COMPLETELY INCORRECT.

Here is the company's statement from their previous quarter's Earnings Announcement.

We had gross shipments of $603,000 for the quarter ended March 31, 2011. The application of the above revenue recognition policy resulted in the recognition of net revenue of $575,000 for the quarter ended March 31, 2011. Our gross shipments are reduced for chargebacks, certain fees paid to distributors and product sales allowances including rebates to qualifying federal and state government programs. At March 31, 2011, net deferred product revenues totaled $563,000.

Show me now these figures would lead you to think that we will see sales of, "5 million a quarter pretty easily," in the near future?

A buyout at this point would be the only redemption, IMHO.

If not, then more smoke and mirrors and painful lessons ahead.
