I love DirecTV and proud they dropped the Weather Channel

But I guess I will miss the Coast Guard picking up an actor in the ocean off the coast of California, or some #$%$ hag picking through a pile of rocks in the desert. 18 hours of reality programs mixed in with some weather is not my idea of weather, although I do like Jim Cantore pumping up a minimal rain storm that will affect 1 billion people tomorrow. Who is going to name my storms? I guess my small son can and we'll run with that. Weather Channel had its day buy was passed by without even knowing it.

    • I too am a Directv customer. Getting very tired of the rate increase with less programming. Just how many shopping channels can they add!!!!!! Leaving after my contract ends.

    • Just settle with the Weather Channel....

    • I too am a directv customer, however, I was at least ok with the switch until seeing the Weather Nation for a solid week. Poor reporting, they focus on the east coast the most, a western segment of Washington, Idaho, Oregon and Calif, you be lucky to get one minute of attention, to me that is not service either. As for complaints that Weather Channel had other broadcast, it was fine with me since you can only watch the same repeated broadcast for any one day. Weather Nation guys wearing suits which are too small, shows me this is not the right organization either, Drop Weather Nation!

    • as long as your a city boy that can catch the local news with a HD ANTENNA and don't have to pay for wather service your ok. But get 20 miles away from any MAJOR city and you have to pay for either cable or Satellite then your panties will be in a bunch; because information is Not free and not on a 3 hour time loop delay as weather NATION does no live reporting. Wait till all the bars and establishments who don't carry local channels start switching to DISH for the weather channel. Many in NYC and NJ inquiring about it now. Tornadoes and HURRICANES don't wait for a 3 hour loop... neither will your consumers
