    EEP vs. EPD

Thinking about buying into one of these stocks. I would appreciate any serious input as to the advantages EPD has over EEP.
I see that EEP has the larger dividend but I would almost prefer more growth than divy.

    • Suggest you look at the distribution growth for both. EEP has a higher yield because it has slower distribution growth along with a general partner split. This along with EPD having investment grade for debt give EEP a higher cost of capital.

The two have recently partnered with a couple of expansions etc and more appear to be on the horizon. EPD also appears both able and willing to increase the rate of distribution increases from .0075 to .01. EPD also has a discount DRIP program where EEP does not.

EEP has some good points in being smaller and easier to grow %wise and does have excellent management. Being in similar businesses they will probably grow similarly from economics of the markets.

Am not sure my view is without bias - see below - but if you want just one MLP it would be EPD or MWE. EEP would be in the second tier of about 8 or 9 companies. Am POSITIVE others would disagree, but my investing position is VERY VERY long term growth and minimizing risk. I am striving for singles not a home run.

FYI - I have owned EPD for many years and it is my largest holding. I do not own EEP.

Where did you find this information? Is there a link?

Fully agree with your comments, EPD is a core long-term holding of mine. If they plan on increasing the quaterly distribution bump rate that would be fantastic news.

        Thanks,

      • RE EPD VS EEP. I AGREE THAT EPD IS PREFERRED.

I own a bit of MWE and EPD - but my focus has been on the upstream crowd - so I'm not familiar with any of the G&P crowd. I wonder if you could be so kind to provide the benefit of your opinion on others in the category of MWE and EPD...If you did not or could not own either of these, which two or three (or more) would you choose, assuming you were looking for a mix of current yield, growth and tax shield?

Would you also be looking at some of the General Partners?

      • Arbtrdr - thanks for your insight, that is what I was looking for.
