    IMPACT STUDIES IN WESTERN STATES

Appox 20 months ago the present administration imposed an impact study on all oil and gas leases, etc. This takes 3-5 years to complete. The oil and gas companies just moved out. In Wyoming this caused 35,000 people to lose their jobs. They wanted to see how much damage the drillers had done to the sage brush and tumble weeds! Owe-Bamba has no clue about business and how to put people to work. Romney has stated several times he will allow oil an gas production on Federal Lands. This will help all of the pipe line companies. We all need to be very careful who we vote for before this great country goes bankrupt....

    • Can you provide some information on the studies and about the specific job losses on oil and gas leases. I am aware that studies had been started but have seen nothing as to results and certianly no huge moving on by drillers. I am no fan of the current administration and it indeed has put lots of regulations either in place or proposed, but the gas drillers on Federal land in Jonah and Pinedale are going full bore. Ditto in North Dakota and Montana.

hist_rpts, over this past weekend I asked a former employee of EPD about any drilling in the Western States that are affected by this Impact Study. As to North Dakota and parts of Montana, he indicated that drilling was being done on Indian Lands which was the same as private lands that the government had no control over. He felt the last rig was leaving the Jonah field this week. During the imposing of this Impact Study, if a driller was in operation after it started, they were allowed completion time. They could not change locations of the rigs but with the slant drilling they can drill up to six different wells from same rig without moving it.

Jonah Basin, Lincoln, Pinedale, and Sublete counties all of the oil and gas companies moved out. This left Sublete County with an unemployment of over 25%. This Impact Study was started around Feb of 2010, don't think reports are available until study is completed. The time frame is 3-5 years to make the study. If you are seeing any drillers in the western states, believe they are on private lands and not on Federal Lands....

    • The USA is either out of it's collective mind or corrupt to the point of extinction, or it will vote Romney in. Americans need to take read notice of the movie 2016 if they want to see a taste of what it could be like here if Obama gets his way.

      Sentiment: Buy
