Does anyone have a strong feeling about the K-1 being final? First time for me to do tax return for LP holdings and I don't know if K-1's ever change from the initial issue. I appreciate other postings, even those from a year ago, regarding K-1's and TurboTax. They were very helpful in getting to the point of being ready to file FIT return--unless K-1 is likely to change. Thanks.
I could be wrong about this, but I thought the designation "Final" is used when the partnership terminates and that is the last K-1. There have been instances in the past when an MLP had to amend their K-1's ( I think WPZ had some issue a couple of years back) but generally this is not like mREITs, BDCs and the like in which the characterization of a dividend or capital gain is changed resulting in an amended 1099.
I posted a reply and question earlier, and I see that it's not showing here, so I'll try again. I notice that I did not receive the K-1 for one of the accounts that I own it in, and I have got to get my tax info to my tax guy. Can anyone please help me regarding how I should proceed? Thank you!
