In my opinion it will rise. with 97% of mortgages being backed by FNMA the goverment may remove the GSA as not to slow the housing recovery. Hosing is booming again and FNMA is still backing a majority of the mortgages. I see the GSA being removed since there is more scrutiny of mortgages that are being backed. There will always have to be a goverment backed agency to help with housing. The economy as we have seen is in need of housing and plays an important role. FNMA with billions in profit will get back to where it was and a lot sooner then the goverment anticipated. had the GSA been removed earlier profits would be ten fold.
