Having posted on this subject before I will bypass the list of real and imagined suitors and cite a few CSC facts and go directly to possible suitors.
As of August 30, 2011 . . . CSC Market Cap: $4.72 B Debt: $2.85 B Cash: $1.67 B
Suitors with enough cash on hand (ranked by available cash): 1. General Electric . $91 B 2. IBM . . . . . . . . $11 B 3. Accenture . . . . . $ 5 B 4. United Technologies $ 5 B 5. Honeywell . . . . . $ 4 B 6. Northrop Grumman . $ 4 B 7. Raytheon . . . . . $ 4 B 8. Lockheed Martin . . $ 3 B
My guess would be, in order: 1. Accenture 2. GE 3. Northrop 4. Raytheon
May be 5. IBM 6. United Technologies (someone told me UTX is not interested. I don't think IBM is either).
Since a turnaround seems increasingly unlikely and people have been waiting for a takeover forever, I think either a private equity investment (PEI) buyout or breakup are the most likely scenarios.
I really think Accenture is the top pick because increasingly CSC jobs are off shore and Accenture already has a great number of jobs off shore, so they might have a better sense of how to management such projects.
