My only question is with your statement "with Boston Consulting doing to CSC what CSC nominally does to it's own customers..." (And yes, this is a serious question) When was the last time CSC really had any Management Consulting engagement that could have ANY impacts on a customers organization model? CSC is, after all, pretty much solely a Techology company.
If you are referring to CSC's outsourcing of a customer's IT staff, then the statement in question is not really accurate - because CSC would acquire the staff and then re-organizing them. Which, to be blunt, really has not happened all that often in the past several years.
Yeah they want people gone before the next fiscal year starts in Apr. 3 fifths of my dept was already in India and now they are ramping up off-shoring even more. The problem is the turn over rate in India is phenomenal. It's hard to get people to stay longer than a month or two. The clients are getting upset but management doesn't seem to care. We went 5 years without raises while the CEO's compensation tripled. They are just trashing the company for a quick personal profit while the whole IT industry in the US is being destroyed.
"We went 5 years without raises while the CEO's compensation tripled." - Right on. Management is scrweing employees with no long term vision. What is HR department doing ? Probably HR personnel are also scared of layoff ?
