Really thought Congress would make more of an effort in December. If they don't have enough imagination and inner strength to come up with a viable alternative to looming automatic cuts, then bring on the automatic cuts, as long as it includes cutting Congressional pay in half and eliminating benefits altogether.

    • i whole heartedly agree. their pay, benefits should be just as the laws they voted for. they should receive the same health care, same retirement, same days off, same pay increases as the rest of us.

      • Sequestration looks to be taking center stage today. If we go over the cliff it will slow the GROWTH of the yearly deficit by $89 billion. Of course, Bernanke is adding that much to the economy every month.
Speaking of Federal Workers, way back I remember working for the government meant lower pay for better benefits. Now, the Federal Workers get higher pay and benefits that often allow retirement in the 50's. Congress has a pay scale and benefits plan that looks like it came from another planet. Not to mention the salaries many get when they retire and turn into advisors and lobbyist.

Just venting. Sitting in mostly cash until some clarity on the Sequestration.

      • Hey, kenny, what has happened to all our old friends? I'm floundering without expert advice. Did they cash in and retire on their winnings?
