Thanks for your very interesting report. The Jones (JSDA) conference call has convinced me even more that Jones is on the right track to hsve very significant earnings next year. They're only being distributed in 40% of the country thus far, and direct deals (like Panera and Barnes & Noble) are in the CEO's words "in their infancy". Exciting licensing deals are also in the works. Recently, all 5000 Hot Wheels (deal with Mattel) were sold out in 7 hours on Jonessoda.com @ 34.99. They also have a valuable patent regarding the labels which they intend to exploit. Everything seems to be coming together for strong performance. The CEO promised a number of "exciting things" in the second half of 03 which he couldn't speak about. It won't take much for this to be at least a 3 or 4 bagger IMHO. There were quite a few beverage analysts on the call. Coverage could come at any time.
Thanks for the followup on the CC and Mattel. I forgot about the Hot Wheels promo. I also liked the improvement in gross margin from 30.9 last year to 35.8% for its first 6 months. Latest quarter was 37.3%. Operating expense is down too from last year. I agree that they seem to be on the right track, just not on anyone's radar screen yet. Staying above $1.00 will make them more visible over time though. I too think JSDA has a bright future and could well attract suitors.
I know that I will anger the longs here, but I dont understand the valuation of this one. I have eaten in a few of the outlets, and although the food was fair, good grief it wasnt this good. Insiders have been selling in the thousands of shares at lower levels than here, valuations are high no matter what measure you use. What is holding this one from falling hard? Yes I am short, but I just had to. This appears to be a no brainer. Sorry.
hey, new to this board but noticed the jsda discussion...institutional interest is there and it is only a matter of time before the exposure is there...this week might be a good buying opportunity. i don't own any of the stock currently but will take a look tomorrow.
