YOu are all assuming that the only reason that the stock went suddenly fromj 39ish to 46ish is becuase of SSS of 7%....Your assumptions don't necessarily have to be correct. There -could- be other reason(s) as well. Time will tell, won't it.
IMO you can safely assume the large short interest in this computer age had something to do with the move from 36ish to 46ish in one day. The trend line was clearly broken on volume with the 7% SSS confirming the 4% of Dec.
In the current regulatory environment, the management is not likely to be pre-releasing information to anybody. A ligitimate increase in price evaluation by the major holders would have to be extracted from the reported SSS.
