    So flipping sick of Quickbooks

I've been using QB for years now, but not that regularly because there is always some problem. Like when I upgraded to Vista and was FOCED to buy a new version of QB!! No Vista patch....nooooooo, BUY A NEW VERSION. So, I'm up to Pro 2007 now and had ALL KINDS OF TROUBLE installing. I'm talking hours and hours. The internet is jam packed with stories about how people have nothing but trouble. I actually had to go in and change the name of a bunch of files in the registery. I would suspect that 90+% of people simply could not perform that kind of surgery.

Now, QB won't open. It just says "can't communicate with the database server"???? This problem Oh?? Well, it's on my local computer. There is no server. The file's right here and I'm looking at it. Well, I go to Intuit and do a search for the error code...and what do they "recommend"?? You got it!!!!! Buy a new version of QB where that known error is fixed. WHAT???!!!! Her's the exact quote from their own website:

    "How to fix the problem
This issue has been resolved in the latest release for QuickBooks 2009. QuickBooks 2009 users, please update your product to the latest release."

Oh, so I have to buy a new versoin of the program that I just bought a new version of, just to run it on Vista?....oh, I get it.

SHENANIGANS!! I have never written something like this; but, I honestly feel that QB is one of, if not the company I would most like to see get theirs, because I think they have earned it. One man's opinion, but do a web search and see if I'm alone.

If you read that sentence its how to fix it in the 2009 version. Next time try to pick the correct version. I use quickbooks 2007 myself and had some problems that got cleared right up by tech support. It dies help having a tech support plan.

    • update, well I just decided to bite the bullet and try calling them and deal with someone who doesn't understand what I'm saying and me him/her. When i did, there is a message that says to log onto the website for "faster service" It then says, if you wish to hold, you will be connected with a NON-TECHNICAL representative. The hold time is approximately 30 minutes. Uh, it's 5:00AM on the west coast. And what's the deal with "non-technical" ? Why would anyone "non-technical" be manning a technical support line?

Are you kidding me? Is this for real or am I being punked?
