With a paper return, the IRS takes many weeks to release the money. More likely to catch an outrageous return like this one that way. E-file through turbotax, the IRS releases the money in 7 days. Its just easier for criminals to get money fast on the backs the taxpayers. Atleast through HR Block, the taxpayer has to be infront of the preparer. Less likely to have an outrageuos return, but still wont stop all fraud.
