    Quicken Bill Pay

I used Quicken for my checking account for almost 20 years. Over the period I was forced to buy updated software about every 3 years. What I had worked fine. Intuit had to add more useless functionality. With the latest upgrade I was stunned to learn that I had to signup for $10 a month to continue to use online bill pay. Goodbye Intuit.

    • their current deceptive practices are beyond unacceptable. I am dumping them also after using them for more than 20 years as well.

    • Hello Czkewr
I started using Quicken when it was MS-DOS, Floppy-Disk & before Windows, like Back in the Day. AnyWays, u want to update ur software as long as they support it, about a 3-4 year window. When they stop supporting, then u upgrade. And the banks, credit card & investment companys follow this routine. I keep all my accounts in Quicken. As far as the $10 monthy charges, I do a Due Diligence on all of my accounts each & every week. And I love the fact that I can import my tax related information into TurboTax (sweet). Maybe it depends on is it worth 10 bucks a month!!

      Sentiment: Hold

      • rhe designed subscription rates are only good if you keep paying them for an old idea that they continue to exploit.. IS ms MONEY STILL AROUND.. i am sure MR SOFTEE would exploit the same scenario... as the banks become more automated their goal is to push more of the costs over to you,,,COST FOR internet service, cost for paper/ paper less ,,, all the banks credit unions belong to ABA OR NCUU AND THEY HAVE A STANDARD FORMAT. NEED TO CHECK WHICH SOFTWARE COMPANIES MEET THEIR STANDARDS, I am sure intuit is NOT THE ONLY ONE. then get competitors product if you don't like this one . intuit has puled many features out of programs . REMEMBER intuit is a MERGER OF chipsoft, PARSONS techNOLOGY, BEST programs, and about 5 other tax companies. they delete programs to force you to upgrade all the time.. [THAT IS IF YOU UPGRADE YOUR OS... NOW IF YOU DON'T UPGRADE YOUR OS YOU STILL HAVE OPTIONS..
WIN XP PRO STILL RUNS SOME OF THE OLDER PROGRAMS THAT INTUIT DOESN'T WANT YOU TO REALIZE... LIKE RIGHT NOW .. THE QUICKEN FAMILY LAWYER PROGRAM 1990 VERSION STILL RUNS ON A WIN 32 BIT OS AND WILL STILL HAVE ALL THE FUNCTIONALITY OF THE 2012 PROGRAM AND PRODUCT... BUT IF YOU RUN WIN 7 64 BIT OR WIN 8 YOU CAN'T ACCESS THE PRINT VERSION OF THAT OLD SOFTWARE CAUSE YOU UPGRADED WHEN MR SOFTEE TOLD YOU TOO...
WELL A LOT OF ACCOUNTANTS AND BANKS DON'T JUMP EVERY TIME MR SOFTEE THROWS A TANTRUM. OR DESIGNS NEW SOFTWARE THAT HE SAYS YOU MUST BUY.... IN FACT I LOOKED AT DELL LAST NIGHT AND I CAN STILL GET WINDOWS 7 PRO IN THE WINDOWS XP MODE... FOR A BUSINESS SYSTEM.. thats because us business users are not going to upset all the worj we have put in our networks and other training just because the WIN -INTUIT MONOPOLY says to JUMP...
