My brokerage account is w/ wells fargo - i called broker back and asked him to check again also . Does selling stock for BIG ( to me anyway :< ) loss and rebuying cause gian to show higher ? (is thtis reason for my large current gains on K-1 ? -
The only real risk that I can think of is unrelated business tax income, which can stem from investing in an LLC. if there is over $1,000 in UBTI, then there are no consequences. If there is more than $1,000, then the IRA will owe tax. Who pays that tax (you or the trustee) is not that clear to me, and is probably above my pay grade. I would guess yes because you paid less for each share meaning that any sales they do of their assets are like gains for you, if I understand it right (which I clearly don't). If their is any comfort in numbers, I too own shares in my regular account, and begrudge this time of year. After tax season is over I get back to begrudging the crap stock price.
