In my November statement just received, my brokerage firm (Salomon Smith Barney) did a reversal/adjustment of all ERF dividends paid year to date from "qualified" to "other". Last year ERF dividends were "qualified". I have messages in to my broker and enerplus IR, but no response until Monday at the earliest.
SSB also reclassified/corrected my YTD PVX dividends from "qualified" to "other".
Has something changed in 2004? Is anyone else experiencing this? Any advice?
Same with me-- Will call my broker monday but he probably doesnt know. Since I got into canroys couple years ago its been tough with smith barney to get any answers. They hold my check(what ever its for) more than two weeks after other posters say they receive theirs. Will let you know if I hear anything.
Thank you for your email. We have not changed the status of our dividends and continue to be believe that we meet the necessary requirements to deem our dividends "qualified". I have spoken with SSB about this change and will hopefully have this matter clarified very soon.
We expect to have our tax information for 2004 out by mid January and this will hopefully provide enough information to SSB to reserve their notice.
If you need any further information, please contact us again.
It sounds like ERF is on top of the situation and taking care of this for us. I didn't speak to my broker yet but will be sure he gets this message, too.
