Spot is $3.82 with Winter futures at $4.27
When I bought ERF, spot was $1.70
It has more than doubled.
I think it will more than triple soon.
When I look at gas prices in Asia.... I realize that the prices in Canada still have a long way to go up.
I'm hearing more and more in the "mainstream media" (a euphemism for "state controlled") that cars and trucks should be running on NG like in Japan and Europe.
Oil and Gold are drifting lower...but NG is still going through the roof. At the rate we're going I think we could break $5 !!! There is no way ERF will remain under 20 if that happens. A Canadian Energy Guru told me he sees NG even breaking $6 due to coming shortages. I don't know, but I'll be overjoyed when we break 5.
Predict ERF to get to 40.
It hasn't tracked the oil/gas it represents. If I had bought NG directly instead of ERF, I would have already 140 percent profit. Meanwhile, ERF went down a bit. But with ERF, I can just patiently wait. It pays a dividend, while we wait. Eventually it will track the underlying assets. I just bought a few thousands shares extra, and, every month I'm also buying a few hundred at a 5% discount.
Spot gas about to break above $4 any day now.
I expect ERF to go back to $20 in the next few months, and then we'll just sit back and collect our dividends for a couple of until exports to Asia are open, and ERF can easily return to $30 to $40 per share range. If it gets to $50 I'll sell and buy the yacht I've been dreaming about.
If the Chinese do anything illegal, I'm ready to file court action to block any sale of ERF at 1/2 its asset value. I also have connections in Ottawa, and they assure me that they will not let repeats of Harvest Energy happen without someone going to jail. We also have a journalist that would love to expose any attempted corruption. So, leave our ERF alone, and let us get to $50/share by natural (energy) market forces !
The nice thing is that while NG is trying to break $4 (and it will), Crude is on its way back to $100. I wonder which will cross the "finish line" first :)
Then , 1 nice quarter with gas above 4 and oil above 100 and we got it made !
I like your positive attitude and comments! Certainly all longs on this board pray your price predictions become reality and I think the dividends will continue to come and possibly increase prior to a considerable stock price increase. Keep accumulating shares perhaps with the 5% discounted stock option and when your $30-$40 price comes to fruition, take off some of your reward for hanging in during hard times if not collecting all of your accumulated equity. Fun to think positive anyway. GL
Careful, Nat Gas prices run in cycles. This is the time of year the prices go up, in 6 months prices will be down and going down. If you're a trader, now is when you lighten up on Nat Gas plays, if you're in for the long haul than sit tight. You're right that Nat Gas will go up, over the next few years, just not in the next few months.
