Yeah, I'm not too happy with the bill either. I don't like the idea of mandating people to be a perpetual consumer of private health insurance. I'm actually much more in favor of a single-payer option - have one big government insurance fund that pays for people's health care. Also, Americans will need to learn how to seek less medical services. No country should spend as much as we do on health care - prevention is essential.
But this bill is the closest thing we were going to get to reforming what is a very, very broken system. The Republican platform of doing nothing and ignoring reality is just not sustainable.
