Nothing from TIVO on the patent ruling--Settlment over weekend!

It could be a fait accompli, and take a year or more to settle regardless.

Remember, these are AT&T lawyers. AT&T was party to several of the longest lawsuits in history, back when it was still Ma Bell. I don't know if there's any direct linkage between these law firms and those law firms, given the Frankensteinian resurrection of what used to be T, but these lawyers will have studied those cases and will have sandbagging in their minds.

And TIVO has never been in a hurry to accomplish anything, so I wouldn't expect them to be in a hurry to collect here.

    • Been out of the loop.
Can someone provide updates on Verizon and Microsoft legal issues ?
And, Isn't AT&T just in this to protect Verizon ?
      Thank You !

      • I disagree. I think we may very well see a settlement this week before T's earning's are announced. They know analysts will be asking them about this ruling yet no statements from either. That fact alone could very well be an indication they are settling. Besides, once you have a key ruling like this, there is nothing to fight about. Their claim bases were all dismissed. Settling a lawsuit like this doesn’t' take much at all. Here--Tivo knows exactly how many U-Verse customers T has, and thus the amount of settlement for both is pretty known. I think they will settle before T's earnings this week. And, this stock will go to the teens or 20s considering a settlement here means a settlement with Verizon. I have bought all I could afford.
