Compared to COD 4 Last year.
COD 4 Sold 1.47 in December of 2007
COD World War Sold 1.41 as of 2008
Here is what the problem is.COD 4 became the game of the year because it received amazing reviews. It built up a new fan base because of the modern warfare model. Well Gears Of War 2 got the additional sales. Since so many ppl loved COD 4 they should have had strong December numbers easily beating COD 4 from last year.
They did not and that is concerning. Gamers are finicky and Alot of my friends I used to play COD4 with online bought Gears of War 2 and not Call of Duty 5 because they do not like they WW2 style action.
You can do the math. Thats 30 Million less dollars based only on 600k less games.I predict when all is said and done that COD 5 Will undersell COD 4 by about 2-3 Million copies.
That is my concern. Also in full disclosure I bought COD 4 and did not buy COD 5.Do not buy this company for Activision buy it for Blizzard.
BUT NOT YET Unless you wanna leave 20% on the table.
You started this thread yet completely are disregarding the topic because you are wrong and maybe if you never admit it, it's like you were never wrong and you can go on being gloriously omnipotent.
I just Bought @ 8.88 I am telling you the reason it has been going down and that you should want this company for Blizzard and COD and Guitar Hero are great bonuses.
You want this company for the buyback and zero debt. You want it because its going to be a 60 dollar stock in 3 years. The goal is to get this a little as possible for the run up.
You can own this at 10.00 now and still make 100%+ in a year.
I said it before and will say it again this is like buying Apple 5-6 years ago.
What? You are so full of yourself it's almost funny.
You still haven't figured out you were dead wrong about WaW underselling CoD 4 yet and that is actually sad. You'll never do well in the market when you are under the illusion that you can't be wrong about anything whatsoever.
You still seem to think that ATVI going down means you are right... I don't even own the stock and you give me advise not to chase... You think you know so much while in reality you are showing your true colors that you know virtually nothing of what you're talking about.
You'll probably never show your face again here after your proved wrong next week when Dec. sales really are released ROFL.
Do you really think you're fooling anyone? You didn't even give a link for your dumb claim.
I am not bashing this stock. I am the biggest ATVI Bull out there.
Now I know why everyone is down 45-65% on all the stocks since 2007 and I am only down 10%.
I was 70% cash during the 2 crashes and made all the right trades on the way up. I made more money on ATVI than anyone here on this board and have never shorted it.
Guitar Hero is DYING. World of War will be LUCKY if they can equal COD 4. You pay for growth. Those 2 titles are done growing.
This stock is a buy for Blizzard Games and subscriptions ONLY at this price. Buy now and you will make alot of money. Buy lower and you will make a ton more.
Even if the economy was booming the charts would be similar. Video games are nearly recession proof.
So how does your game work? You just tell stories here and see what sticks?....lol.
First you state that COD WAW sold 1.4 million. Uhhhh..you do understand that those were only the 360 numbers. What about the 597,000 units on PS3?
Next you seem to ignore the blowout UK numbers which greatly exceed the COD4 numbers.
Finally you incorrectly conclude that management expected COD WAW to outperform COD4....haha. Let's see...COD4 was the game of the year developed by Infinity Ward. When Treyarch was chosen for COD WAW, most honestly believed that the game could not compete.
What a surprise since then.....COD WAW has greatly exceeded management's expectations. You are so off base here but good luck with that.
You like Charts? How About this Scary Guitar Hero Chart..lol
I provided you with the links.Read for yourself what NPD Said. The only reason Call of Duty World War appears to have strength is because COD 4 fans bought this just to see what kind of game it is. Word of mouth is everything in video games. When the COD 5 line veers right is going to fall short of COD 4 by about 2 million.
And they were down, which means some folks got back to work.
We'll see about unemployment.
Wal Mart sales were up, barely. Macy's was down, barely. Snore.
Alcoa is just part of the overall bad news; known issues.
Oil is volatile and I wouldn't even try to guess where it'll be from day to day; 30-60 probably over the next few months.
We'll see about ATVI. And no, not $45.00 each. If retail is $50 then retails cut is around $8-10, distributions cut is around $3 - $5, ATVI's shipping cost is $ so ATVI makes $30 or so per unit, maybe $35 on a good day.
i'm ot a day trader, I'm looking for $15 by summer and that's a healthy profit I'm willing to wait for rather than peanut moves day to day. Sold my MCZ $.27 at $43 today, only took a month or two, but if it had taken 6 also fine. I'm not a day trader ;)
Actually, I can do the math and assuming your sales numbers are right it's not $30m less it's more like $15-20m. What, you think the retail $50 all goes to ATVI? You need to learn how to do math and figure out what chunk of the $50 actually goes to the publisher idiot.
