view the rest of the postsI'm curious, how are you correlating beta numbers to forecasted sales?
Oh C'mon, you're not serious are you?
Pre-ordering SC2 gives you beta keys.
More beta players = more pre-order, at least there's a correlation, even tiny bit.
the players has been growing like crayzee since the date is announced. at least that's positives, and at price nearing 52wk low, I think I am ready to get in next week.
by the way, pre ordering is not the ONLY way to get the beta key. All you have to have is an active battle.net log in and you opt in for the beta and have a chance of getting a key. I have 5 keys from that. SO, if you are stating that 41000 people who play on sc2 beta have pre ordered the game already you are wrong.
I am way long on this stock but I do not like it when people post incorrect information.
I'm completely serious.
Expectations are for at least 6M SC2 sold. So I'm curious why 41,000 playing the beta leads to a conclusion that expectations will be smashed? It's a simple question. What is it, 20K in the beta = 4M sold, 30K = 6M sold, 40K = 10M sold? And so on? I'm honestly wondering what is the correlation, and where is the basis for that correlation coming from?
And 41000 is only on one portal. There's US West, East, Central Korea, Asia.
the 41,000 is only on the english server that I am on, US east. You are right, there are servers for other countries as well. The 41,000 were players online at the moment, not the total players with preorders. I would estimate preorders are already over a million units. The lowest I have ever seen on Beta at any one time is 20,000.
Starcraft will sell 15 million worldwide.
