Somewhere I read a cogent comment on Lindner's decision to sell Harken. Unfortunately, that is one I did not save anyplace. My memory is that one of the principals left, Ryback maybe?, and the owners changed the investment philosophy.
Can anyone remember this, and perhaps identify the source?
I have tried a few searches on Lindner and Ryback to no avail. The 14A filed April 27, 1999 shows Ryback Management Corp with 11,017,700 shares, of which 7,020,000 were in the Lindner Dividend Fund. I did not think much about it at the time, but Harken was a strange item to hold in anything identified as a dividend fund.
