Accelerated approval is when one gets approval without going through a phase 3.
It is possible for CYCC to get a priority review once they've submitted for FDA approval. Which typically saves a few months off the standard review. I don't think they are in line to submit for approval based on their phase 2 for sapa.
I think the trial needs to continue: "The drug company will still need to conduct studies to confirm that tumor shrinkage actually does predict that patients will live longer. These studies are known as phase 4 confirmatory trials."
