For a family of four with one smoker in the family that takes the "best" coverage available, which is very poor coverage no dental no critical care no accident insurance and which has a family deductible of 2,500.00 a year, 1250.00 per individual, the biweekly premium is 835.00 dollars. So the annual premium would be 21,710.00 dollars. Now take the "average" pay has little to do with reality. This rate is only achieved by adding in all executive compensation for the entire company.
But let's use the 12.31 an hour figure. Most employees are lucky to get 30 hours a week. 30 hours times 56 weeks equals 1680 hours for the year times 12.31 an hour equals 20,608.00 in gross pay per year. That employee would have to borrow 1,100.00 a year to pay for the coverage in a year.
You need to get real. You have no idea of how much the policies are, nor the coverage. I have friends who work for WMT and have great coverage and the costs are not that much. They also have dental if they choose that policy. You really need a dose of reality.
Perhaps shep, because you have such inside intimate knowledge, you could provide some reputal facts. I have haerd the same from other that work at walmart. So I was actually surprised the heath care is even this good.
Thats sickening. At the wages this welfare sucking, taxpayer dollar sucking company pays, they should provide all employees with top notch health care at no charge. This company needs to be run out of business and thankfully, its well on its way.
