*** Are Dollar-style Stores or WMT Better For the USA? ***

Do dollar-style stores have better union record than WMT?
Better wages? Better opportunities for employees?

Nearly all(95%+) of groceries sold in a WMT superstore are made in the USA.
Exceptions being fruit or vegetables that are grown elsewhere.

Would WMT haters here be happy if WMT was replaced by Dollar style stores?

I noticed that the dollar stores carry candy and other food made in CHINA. And of course all the other stuff the dollar-style stores sells comes from CHINA.

If WMT were not here the void would be filled by other businesses some of those being more $ stores.

Perhaps the WMT haters here can get fabulous jobs at the dollar-style stores.

    • to mad:
My experience of buying groceries over last 8 years at WMT superstore tells me that 95% of groceries I buy come from the US, I look at all the labels of food I buy for calories and country of origin.

Unionized grocers sell no more USA made food goods than WMT.

Tell me how campbells, progresso soup soup is made in CHINA. Are their labels lying?

Is Dean's Food(DF) lying when they told me they sell the WMT generic milk as well as other brands sold in WMT?

Cabot cheese made by consortium of US farmers. Are they lying also?

Nabisco, General Mills, Quaker and Post are lying when their cereals indicate they come from the US?

Naturally some fruits and vegetable are not always in season in the US and may come from warmer climates but never China.

WMT sells fruits from FL, CA, MN, NJ to name just a few US locations. They also sell fruit from Chile, Mexico and Canada.

Don't give me the bs about facts.
      I have only posted facts.
Anti-WMT posters here often post bs based on hatred of WMT. They have never been in a WMT and even if they were they surely didn't compare prices and SKUs of name brand food items that can also be found, at a higher price, at the unionized groceer.

      • You have to be the most #%$&$ person on God's green earth....

["Nabisco, General Mills, Quaker and Post are lying when their cereals indicate they come from the US?"] .....

Is there any place on those boxes or packages that state where the ingredients come from.....?

and what's with the "buying groceries over last 8 years at WMT superstore".....eight years...is that when you were hired and got your 10% off as an associate to shop at their stores....

        DUH..!!!

Tell everyone the reason International Produce Limited changed its name.....

Tell everyone how much Made In America is put in those four super cargo ships when they go back to China....

Tell everyone the real damn reason Wal*Mart has its Global Procurement Office in China and nearly 20,000 vendors there.....

Tell everyone here why Sam said.....No supercenters in towns with less than 50,000 people....

["Don't give me the bs about facts.
I have only posted facts."] .....

well, from where this O'fart is sitting....

they must still be in your head because I ain't seen a damn one here.

    • ["Nearly all(95%+) of groceries sold in a WMT superstore are made in the USA"] ....

Where is the link to that....

Don't come on this site spreading hearsay ...

If you can't come up with proof...

We as a group on this site stating the facts will make damn sure what you type will not get very far unless there are facts.....

      2006....

["China exported $2.5 billion of food ingredients to the United States and the rest of the world in 2006, an increase of 150% from just two years earlier, according to Chinese industry estimates. It is now the predominant maker of vanilla flavoring, citric acid and varieties of vitamin B such as thiamine, riboflavin and folic acid -- nutrients commonly added to processed flour goods such as Mission tortillas and Tyson breaded chicken."] .....

      that was seven years ago...

Do you care to tell everyone here the amount in US dollars today....

So, don't be stating "nearly all(95%+) unless you show proof of that fact....

No proof here is a bald-face lie in the eyes of the readers on this site that are here to understand why there are people in this world that are so damn ignorant that they have to make up sh!! to profit from it....

Sir/Madam.....your 95%+ is nothing but bullsh!!.

["Americans have long been eating foods imported from China, the world’s largest agricultural economy and one of the biggest exporters of agricultural products. China shipped 4.1 billion pounds of food to the United States last year, according to the Agriculture Department, including almost half of the apple juice, 80 percent of the tilapia and more than 10 percent of the frozen spinach eaten.

China is also a big source of ingredients used in food, like xylitol, a candy sweetener; artificial vanilla, soy sauce and folic acid."] .....

Now....you show US proof as what you typed
["Nearly all(95%+) of groceries sold in a WMT superstore are made in the USA."]

      Or...

come out and admit you made up that figure.....

NO REPLY will tell US all the answer....

    • Dollar stores arrived in response to Welfare Mart. Once Welfare Mart had killed off local mom and pop stores and created the, "buy the cheapest junk possible from China," model, others simply copied Welfare Mart except they began selling overstock items, defective items, anything they could buy cheaper than Welfare Mart could in China.

You seem to be amazed at Welfare Mart's brilliant business model. It's not that complicated. Throw ethics and compassion out the window, kill off all small businesses in the area. Buy the cheapest junk on earth that people will buy and pay your employees as little as possible skirting every law you can.
