Copy Ronald Reagan Initiatives For Recovery

Ronald Reagan is one of our greatest presidents and no one can dispute that Reagan's change of the tax rate from 70% to 28% is perhaps the greatest presidential move in job creation.

The reduction in the tax rate helped create 21 million jobs.

Unfortunately the newfound money went to the liberation and unification of Germany and the real problem with trickle down economics is that the goverment went haywire with excessive spending. Controls are necessarry for Reaganomics to work and they can work again and this time around we must ensure that spending is reined under control.

We need to reform our goverment, cut waste and implement more tax friendly policies.

We are all aware of the greed on WS but let us not forget that businesses in the US are not the enemies of our goverment.

70% of job creation is still created by small businesses. We can not expect private enterprise to be penalized for creating jobs.

The wealthy pay 70% of all taxes and 30-40% of Americans pay no taxes. We can agree to disagree however the low income classes that liberals profess to protect will be the ones most hurt by Obama's plan to tax those who earn $250,000 or more.

I live in Nassau County, Long Island one of the most expensive regions of the country to live and we pay some of the highest property and income taxes in the nation.

The jobs that the so called wealthy help create will start to disappear and so will the small businesses and service sector that are so dependent upon the spending of these so called rich people.

I have seen these tactics destroy our economy and they will once again have the same harmful affects.

Punishing those who stole money from corporations is an entirely different topic and has nothing to do with job creation.

I already suggested the elimination of mark to market accounting for at least a year until the banks and the goverment can make a fair assessment of these assets. Sarbanes Oxley should also be either modified or repealed and corporate tax rates reduced from 35% to 25%.

Another $1 trillion in spending will only create a bigger goverment which to this point has proved that they are only interested in their own self serving agendas that keep them in power as evidenced by the fall of Freddie and Fannie which only served the constituents of the democratic party.

I can only hope that Obama can be stopped for I truly believe that we will repeat history. I truly believed that my generaton would never see the reincarnation of Jimmy Carter but this time it will be the reincarnation of Jimmy Carter tenfold.

Change for the worse I am afraid and this kind of change will prove to be of the worst kind for America unless of course you are one of those who believe in entitlement.

    • Marcox, do you do anything besides complain? To a prospective employer you are like a screaming "wrongful termination" law suit just waiting to happen. Maybe with a couple of positive thinking books under your belt, you would move up a few tax brackets, so you could complain about paying too much of your hard earned money and switch partys. No, because that would involve actual work on your part. Better to just maintain your current status as an "A" Typical whining Liberal.

    • somewhere Amadinejad is applauding this.

    • You have no credibility whatsoever. You praise the Republican party even though they have been responsible for two economic debacles in 8 years. When Captain Joseph Hazelwood was asleep or beating off in his quarters during the Exxon Valdez fiasco, he did not blame a democrat for running his ship aground. Only politicians and partisans pass the buck. Leave politics out of the issue. The mess we got ourselves into was made by both parties, regulators, and greedy investors/ institutions who were blinded by profits when they overleveraged their assets and everyone elses in CDOs and CDSs.

If Nassau County is too expensive for you, just move. Vote with your feet. Send the county and the state a message.

    • Did Sirf really write that crap? Jeez, he's an even bigger idiot than I thought - I feel fully justified in putting him on ignore. Why does anyone still bother with him? Is it just for comic relief?

    • Ah Sirf,

You present such an easy target. From your earlier post:

"5/6 of all subprime mortgages were given to minorities red, green, blue, and whatever colr you would like to throw in. 1/6 of the remaining subprime loans were given to whites or should I call them caucasians.

Check the facts you dumb @#$% and I did the research now do yours you lazy liberal bastard.

Typical liberal @#$% who has a big mouth and doesn't bother to check facts."

OK, now for the facts, as presented in page 44 of the attached link (supplied by the Government Accounting Office):

      http://www.gao.gov/new.items/d07645.pdf

For the years 1996 to 2005, the percentage of minority sub-prime borrowers was:

      27.8%, 30.5%, 33.2%, 39.6%, 36.5%, 36.0%, 42.2%, 47.2%, 47.2%, 53.5%

I don't expect an apology because I am quite sure that you are not honest enough with yourself to acknowledge that you were wrong.

And in another example of your stellar research from this post:

"First lets get something straight you can't get into these schools unless you are smart. Perhaps there may be some who qualify for a break such as Obama who was sponsored by a Palestinian terroist. Hell we don't even know how well this guy did at Yale as none of his records are available which seam to suggest that he didn't do so well"

Just a couple of problems with this one.

First, Obama never went to Yale. He has a BA from Columbia University and a law degree from the Harvard Law School, where "At the end of his first year, he was selected, BASED UPON HIS GRADES and a writing competition, as an editor of the Harvard Law Review. In February 1990, in his second year, he was elected president of the Law Review."

Just in case you didn't know, that position is the most prestigious student position at the most prestigious law school in the nation. You don't get into that position because you have "Palestinian terroist" sponsors, you get there because you are the brightest of the brightest.

Where is it that you are doing that fine research of yours, anyway?

your rant is not worth the space!

    • This is where I stopped reading you post.

You are a true idiot, and you helped make up my mind. I mailed in my ballot and voted for Barak. You concervitives are wearing it out, pay backs are a bitch.

    • Sir, you are so correct.

    • Heah Markcock

I paid for my own college tuition and don't give me your sob story.

My father was poor yet I took out the loans needed and paid back every cent.

      What is your dumb argument?

If you want to be the best then study. Our higher learning institutions offer many scholarships and if you have your sights on being the best then you need to buckle down.

If you are going to let money get in the way of your dreams then you just don't have what it takes to be successful and your gripe about education costs should be directed to your hero Obama. I am sure that the higher learning instsitutions like Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Brown and etc. are going to open their doors and lower their standards just because you can't afford to attend.

First lets get something straight you can't get into these schools unless you are smart. Perhaps there may be some who qualify for a break such as Obama who was sponsored by a Palestinian terroist. Hell we don't even know how well this guy did at Yale as none of his records are available which seam to suggest that he didn't do so well

I am sure that if you become enough of an insurgent that you can find all kinds of undesireable rogue nations that will be happy to pay you as long as you support their markist and communistic ideals

Don't expect these schools to be controlled by goverment and to enforce entitlement mandates any time soon.

Its not going to happen, your argument is better stated on a communist message board. Wait I think I am on one.

I paid off my college loans just like everybody else and if you really feel that there is an inequality in our education system then I propose you take it up with your teflon hero Obama.

If you don't have goals in your life you will not accomplish much. If you want a Mercedes bad enough you will find a way to have one and I am not talking about stealing one.

Hard work and sacrifice are non-existent for those who want hand-outs.

Don't blame me for your immaturity and inability to create a better life for yourself. Look in the mirror for the answer is there.

And here is a fact, 5/6 of all subprime loans were given to minorities and Fannie and Freddie were their biggest sponsors.

Don't be such a moron and just maybe you can check the facts.

A true liberal who would rather rant and rave and intimidate rather than do the research.

Go work for ACORN I am sure that you can find some homeless people to register for your man Obama.

    • So true and well said!!!
