Basic statistics told you that there was literally a 9999 to 1 chance that the XLF would be up today. This thing is getting ready to rip back toward $35. Shorties are going to lose their accounts. It serves them right. No one should trade the markets with a sound understanding of statistics.

    • funny xlf was up for a couple days, look where it fell from.

plus the fact that i posted technicals were extremely over sold and although xlf is toast i would cover just until the technicals reset.
most shorts have been in stocks twice as long as longs.
shorting is more difficult, requires more capital, and almost always entails more pain than the long can endure.
that said any short with any experience covered this when it got around 32. thats just one of many reasons the pop was so short.
sure many shorts took the pain past 6-8 months. ive posted many boards where i had a loss. but just the first week of the drop i was back in black and past 2 weeks have been knocking then cover off the ball. best part is you can short almost every pop for at least the next 6 months. at least in financial, lending, and home related stuff.
i quite shorting builders months ago. if they cont to bounce ill look at them again.

    • Didn't say where he sold. As far as his opinon, if he limited on a sell to close for his exit point he did very well. IMHO

    • good for statistics dumbass. even if you wee actually using some model, which there is no proof of, quant traders and people who are basing trades off statistics and historical market inefficencies are getting murdered in this market.

please go long, so that I can short the shit out this crap. there is systemic risk in the financials and there are actually douches dumb enough to buy this crap.
