it's amazing how the congress nd pres

were able to all agree back in feb that a stimulus package would b signed and delivered to the public with the slightest wiff of recession. now you have oil prices eating the real economy alive nd were still talk'n about wind farms, biofuel and the always entertaining electric/hydrogen car. has everybody lost their minds? u have auto workers that r going to b out of work F O R E V E R !! u have delivery co's that r closing and chaptering. Discretionary spending has dried up either because people don't have it, their sav'n it because of fear, or they just don't go out anymore cause it costs to much to transport people. I think the current gov repub/dem's r a bunch of aholes. If anybody with a set of balls shows up on the horizon and say's exactly what eveybody's thinking he'll b 50% in the polls tommorrow. This isn't that difficult, we need more oil/natural gas/ coal/ nuclear energy, so pass a sweeping executive order for all the above. GO TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE TONIGHT AND TELL THEM YOUR ORDERS. PUT THE BALL IN THE CONGRESS COURT AND TELL VOTERS TO CALL THE AHOLES NOW!!! if that upsets opec, greenies or anybody else 2 f'n bad. The US uses more energy because we make more of everything. This countries future is on the line and it's about time the politicians understand that were sick n tired of always b'n tapped for their stupid regulations, mandates and taxes.

    • I always assumed Bush/Cheney had oil interests, and Cheney has military interests, as that is what the media portrays. Here's an interesting article, no doubt from a liberal viewpoint:

And check out the date, November 2001!

      The United States of oil
No administration has ever been more in bed with the energy industry -- but does that mean Big Oil is calling Bush's shots? First of two parts.

      By Damien Cave

Nov. 19, 2001 | The Bush administration's ties to oil and gas are as deep as an offshore well. President George W. Bush's family has been running oil companies since 1950. Vice President Dick Cheney spent the late '90s as CEO of Halliburton, the world's largest oil services company. National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice sat on the board of Chevron, which graced a tanker with her name. Commerce Secretary Donald Evans was the CEO of Tom Brown Inc. -- a natural gas company with fields in Texas, Colorado and Wyoming -- for more than a decade.

The links don't end with personnel. The bin Laden family and other members of Saudi Arabia's oil-wealthy elite have contributed mightily to several Bush family ventures, even as the American energy industry helped put Bush in office. Of the top 10 lifetime contributors to George W.'s war chests, six either come from the oil business or have ties to it, according the Center for Public Integrity.

    • They can't have (by law) have financial interest in OIL, (whoever they are?).
What are the company names the method by which they benefit from these alleged ownership. Your answer is not an answer it is a repeat what the VAST LEFT WING MEDIA AND 527s have stated many many times to now you all believe it is gospel, OLD MARXIST trick!!

    • I will attempt an answer to the question. Bush and Cheney have oil interests, Cheney has military interests. Cheney and Rumsfeld, and others in the administration had military plans to bully nations long before Bush became president. $140 oil and countless billions of dollars of military contracts makes Bush/Cheney very wealthy.

Yet I think the Iraq war was needed. I don't trust Saddam and his sons controlling oil wealth, developing weapon systems to invade more neighbors. The thought of WMDs on a plane that crashes into New York is enough reason for the Iraq war.

    • WOWZER!!!

      Another GENERALIZATION w/out support!

Stop it! Get some GRAVITAS-- QUIT OBOMA ING us. ANSWER THE ? How ARE the Bushes making money from the waqr in IRAQ??? I want specifics. Call your college profs for help-- but please respond!

Comparing the Bush/ Reagan Administrations to CARTER's. Geez, 21% inflation. unemployment. loss of Panama Canal, started the downfall of the relationship between IRAN/ US/ failed attempt to get hostages from Iran on and on. Btw: I remember talking w/a co worker of mine back then and saying stocks what stocks I'm making more money in the prime reserve (because interest rates were so high)I didn't need to risk buying stocks. Of course I al ready had my house at 5.25% mortgage and wasn't in the home buying stage at the time.

    • It will, as soon as we get the knuckleheaded, idiot leaderlessship, and the members of the flat earth society, who believe the earth is only 6,000 years old, who support them...back into the stone ages where they belong.

    • Indeed I did, I just assume renewable energy technologies will continue improving and our economy will continue to become increasingly energy efficient.

    • Got poor grades in Science there did you!!

    • Clinton may play a part in an Obama administration. McCain says he wants smaller government and he says he has conservative values. At least McCain says the proper things for my vote. Obama is very liberal, an angry Socialist with a Muslim background. I don't want an angry black Socialist in the white house. I hope enough Americans agree with me, we'll have to wait and see.

If Obama is elected, expect higher taxes and many new regulations. Expect the Nanny State with insane Affirmative Action policies.

    • I'm surprised that after eight years of Bush/Cheney, with the complete rubberstamp support of the republican congress that you think John McCain, or any republican is better for this country. They havent paid their property taxes on one of their seven homes in FOUR years in La Jolla, Calif.(shouldnt have to bother with that...right?), John McCain claims a 100% VA disability and collects $58,000 dollars a year tax free, money our Iraq Veterans need badly. He might be 15% or 20% disable, but he sure as hell is NOT 100%, if he is he's not fit to be President...ya think? What makes you "think" McCain is better than Obama? Just a gut feeling? Any real accomplishments?
      Clinton aint running.

    • Hopefully the markets will continue to function and the renewable energy technologies will produce much of the electricity that runs our economic system.
