    Bailout dies

200-300 point drop on the failure . . . there's an anti-climax if ever there was one. Looks like the failure was already baked in the cake. I'd guess the Republicans will get a bigger say in whatever happens now . . . they're needed.

      >>Just the masochists.<<

LOL They'd have to catch me first.

      >>I suspect API doesn't have much. The tape is probably innocuous but they're playing it for whatever they can get.<<

And I suspect you're right. They'll probably end up saying that their lawyers warned them they would get sued for such a revelation. Well, they will be just another media member to disrespect. The world of honorable journalism has certainly diminished.

    • >> . . .Do you expect more than a few to actually carry out their threat[to not pay their taxes]? <<

      Just the masochists.

      >>.. . I found API's site and their letter that WorldNetDaily reported is posted front and center there. . . .<<

I suspect API doesn't have much. The tape is probably innocuous but they're playing it for whatever they can get.

      >>That's the magic of witholding. People think of their tax refund is a gift from the government. If people were forced to pay their tax bill by check, we would have a tax revolution.<<

I've read that some people plan to not pay their taxes for this year, but people talk a lot when the day is long. Do you expect more than a few to actually carry out their threat?

Can you imagine what the credit crisis would be like if a portion of people's income were withheld before they bought on credit?

      >>Probably nothing. Would they be any different than say the AP and do anything but protect Obama?<<

If they're no different than the media in Obama's camp, they're putting up a very false front (well, come to think of it . . .). I found API's site and their letter that WorldNetDaily reported is posted front and center there.

But so far, there is no update.

    • The point is this crisis was caused by Democrats aided and abetted by ACORN. That other people in other parties have done wrong things at other times is not an excuse and beside the point.

    • >>Where are Americans today like those who hosted the Boston Tea Party? Surely there is _some_ way to overcome taxation without representation. <<

    • it ain't the repub that get reported and indited for these crimes. redistricting has always been a political policy between both parties. just like fed prosecutors serving as to the discretion of the party in power. take a good look at the country and the problems we all face, rich, poor young, old, and u'll agree that the problems can all b agreed upon it's the solutions to them along with the way that the problems r prioritized is the disagreement. if someone from my side commits a crime, (Rangel,Jefferson,Clinton,Dodd,Conrad,Frank)or speaks against my fighting men who r in harms way i want them out of power. ur side with the willing accomplices in the media will obuscate the truth and the dignity of our country and constitution for POWER. ur side hates the principals of what this country was founded on. with the willing help of the judiciary anything can b argued and found to b on a very slippery slope. in a nut shell ur side lacks morals, ethics, and truth. there willing to sell snake oil to all the weak minded people that c the eazy way out in having a big daddy take care of them without any expectation of individual responsibility.i remember the way this country was not that long ago and was a damn site better in knowing if u worked hard u could make it and u didn't ever have to worry about individual rights and property rights. currently we r taxed on half of what we make and told to give more cause it's patriotic/ that's idiotic.

    • You are turing out to be the biggest "cry baby." McCain is loosing because he doesn't win the hearts and minds of middle class Americans (PERIOD). BTW Acorn had John McCain as their head speaker last year where he praised the organization and their members. Actually pined all over them. Trying to make associations to Obama has many question why. Because Acorn is primarily made of black people? The republican can go ahead and commit voter fraud in states like Florida and Ohio. Convicted crimes! And,,, McCain is crying about questionable fictitous registrations. I could go on and mention about a dozen questionable regisration practices carried out by the republican party. Like sending voter regisration packets to people who moved and have the return address going to their old office instead of the new office. This was intentionally done because the regisration forms will not get forwarded and they will not get registered or notice thereof. Just one of the many crooked deals by republicans. Should I bring up Texas's plainly political redistricting plan that was a constitutionally impermissible gerrymander? The product of the political entrepreneurship of former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay. Oh, what happened to old Tom???? RIGHT!

      >>May not show up anymore? Won't show up anymore. The rich pay most of the income taxes. It's a well known fact that no matter the personal rate on the rich (and it has been up in the 90s %) the percentage of income actually collected by the IRS never goes exceeds about 20%. People aren;t stupid, they either stop taking their money in the form of income or they take their business somewhere that the tax take isn't so steep.<<

Where are Americans today like those who hosted the Boston Tea Party? Surely there is _some_ way to overcome taxation without representation.

      >>No, but what we know is enough for me. Obama is sympathetic to Odinga and Odinga is (or at least supports) radical Islam.<<

Yes, and it is enough for every voter to understand, but it's reaching so _few_. But hope just dawned on the horizon. What do you think the API has that it plans to reveal???

    • >> . . . They take polls to get a pulse of the nation. Every agency and association is conducting them. They are not biased either way. . . .<<

Sure they are or they wouldn't vary so widely. They use many tricks to skew the results to what they want, the favorite probably being weighting the samples according to the number of registered voters in each party . . . a questionable practice after ACORN registers Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, the front line of the Green Bay Packers and millions of other fictitious or redundant people as Democrats. Many of the polls are just an effort to suppress the McCain vote.

    • Your posts are laughable and sound so desperate. They take polls to get a pulse of the nation. Every agency and association is conducting them. They are not biased either way. Sorry that they don't meet your expectations regarding McCain. He may have come out swinging, but Obama handled every question with pose, calmness, and directed a counter-swing that McCain could not handle. The American people also agree by a 53% to 25% in favor of Obama. Got news for you - Obama will win in almost every state and will even take many traditional republican states as well. You'll see and learn. McCain is over and done with!!!!
