$276M Rev $.38 EPS. Good solid showing. AKAM should go up barring bad guidance.

    • >> . . . Just sit back, buy it when it's low, and when it peaks sell it. LOL<<

Yeah piece of cake. So far I've got the sell on the peak pretty close but not the buy on the low bit.

      >> . . .But trading just before holiday weekends is usually skewed because the devious marketmakers have already begun their holiday, so aren't throttling the stocks. So we won't see a clearer, truer picture until Tuesday and Wednesday.<<

I'm happy we had such a big rally the day before a three day weekend but next week will probably tell whether that ugly sell off is over.

      >>I just noticed in the Google results a subtle difference between these two reports by the same analytical group. Do you spot it?<<

They raised the levels of support and resistance? I assume they figure it will be trading in a higher range. I do too.

    • >>Nothing obvious but then two years isn't enough data to determine a pattern anyway. One thing sticks out . . . no monster moves either way.<<

That's true. But by no monster moves and by the stock's dependably regular oscillation . . . voilà . . . AKAM is a good trader for those who sleep at the switch or work for Maytag. Just sit back, buy it when it's low, and when it peaks sell it. LOL

Right now, AKAM is up all of three pennies (0.10%), LLNW is up 5.48%, ETFC up 4.89%, even AAPL is up 2.08%. But trading just before holiday weekends is usually skewed because the devious marketmakers have already begun their holiday, so aren't throttling the stocks. So we won't see a clearer, truer picture until Tuesday and Wednesday.

But in looking for clues to AKAM's direction, I just noticed in the Google results a subtle difference between these two reports by the same analytical group. Do you spot it?

      Oh, be a sport. :-)

Seriously, Martin Niemöller had some thoughts about speaking out . . . but, ironically(!) a certain message board censor does not believe in speaking out and blocked my post (in which I'd copied the poem) twice! So here is the link:

      >>Thanks for the info.<<

You're welcome. Today, though, between Geithner's game and the long weekend, AKAM's performance will be especially interesting.

Since, unlike professional analysts, captiva never ventures a specific time frame, he could still turn out to be correct with his AKAM at $22 prophecy. Think about it.  If the economy implodes three years from now and the value of the dollar goes to twenty-five cents, then AKAM at $88 will be worth $22.  ;-  hee hee

    • Thanks for the info.

    • >>Definitely overachieving the last couple of days. <<

After yesterday's close . . . and the Geithner headline . . . the NASDAQ-100 traded underwater after hours. But right now most of the futures are chlorophyllic. Maybe investors are hoping Geither does jump ship? Man, how green would be the futures if the whole admin announced it was jumping ship? :-) (They can use the RINOs for ballast, too.)

      >>Don't know [whether ER announcement was the catalyst] but we'll probably see more positive movement in the next 27 days.<<

I got curious about the history of AKAM's price movement following Akamai's ER announcements, so found and listed them, but didn't analyze. In the list below, the date above each quarter is the date Akamai announced earnings for that quarter. The next two lines are the closing prices on, respectively, the date of Akamai's announcement and the next trading day. Can you discern any pattern according to the quarter or is it all random?

Definitely overachieving the last couple of days.

Don't know but we'll probably see more positive movement in the next 27 days.

      >>Down over 40% and overbought? I think they need new words to describe the condition.<<

Or the Williams %R needs more criteria before it can be accurate in the context of a stock's history. AKAM is leaping again today. So of course we have to wonder if it's in concert with the rest of the rising market. Want to see the answer? :-)
