At the end of the conference call - AKAM was asked to give projections on future earnings and answer the questions about 15% growth projections being achieveable for 2011.. The executive simply stated that no projections would be given for the next upcoming quarter... Not a good reason to sell off the shares...
Apple does the same, and more companies are following their lead. Extending themselves and stating anything aggressive leads to dissappointment, stock decline and LAWSUITS. I've received 5 class action suits in the last 8months for misses with companies, even with logical explanations. Strong companies (this is one, look at the balance sheet) just aren't going to play the game. They'll manage down- then the shorts can sue them. As stated earlier they basically are going with in line guidance. 11% is a buying opportunity GL
Sagan is hated by stock holders. Everytime he speaks we get crushed.Look the team is not working they are falling fast, kinda like my investment in this poorly run company.Time to change the coach or in this case the CEO.NEW LEADERSHIP IS WHATS NEEDED.
This is more a result of the fact that this is supposed to be a major growth company and they are stagnating. Results and guidance are ok, not great. Therefore, people are dropping shares. They hummed the same tune last quarter and fell from 50s down to 30s. The quarter was fine, the guidance just wasn't amazing.
Still, the company is growing regardless of how quickly analysts want them to. AKAM is compelling down here in the mid to low 30s. The selloff is to be expected. As soon as they have a decent quarter with a moderate beat, they'll take off again just like before.
