    dollar and gold

dollar rocked today based on Bush's "Proposal" like anyone thinks that has legs is crazy in my opinion. As they killed the euro and gave into the dollar, gold did not take the beating that should it should have looking at the dollar rally. That to me is saying as the bad news keeps coming and the gold doesn't fall, it "COULD" be showing signs of a bottom. The rand continues to weaken and that is good for the S.A. MINERS.

    • I noticed the same thing, the $ rallied but gold did not drop by the same %age. Are we at a point where gold got to it's terminal downside before the $ hit it's resistance?

Nice budget - I see it is simply not including the main expenses. It is an EBITDA of a document not a serious proposal to reign in spending. Deficit reduction policy is built on a house of cards that relys on ever increasing GDP or at least mainting 3 - 4% GDP. I don't see that happening with the housing bubble bursting down there and the consumer attempting to pay off debt and attempt to save $ in the future.

It will not be long before mainstream media see the holes in it and start to use the entire spending figures. It amazes me how such a massive media can be spun along so much. Even the BBC has been reporting that the IMF has proposed gold sales. I remember it being a british proposal, not an IMF idea.

    • Buying back the shares I sold at $3.41. First time I lost 25 cents. Back between $2.94 and $2.95. 10,000 shares.
