Nuedexta - Cough Medicine???
Are the ingredients in Nuedexta really just generic cough medicine???
This is what you pumpers have put your whole life savings into, cough medicine for uncontrolled laughing and crying?
Isn't this what they did in the old days was ride from town to town in a horse drawn carriage selling cough medicine as a cure all remedy? Heck ya the FDA approved it, it's only cough medicine.

What is Nuedexta?
Nuedexta contains a combination of dextromethorphan and quinidine. Dextromethorphan affects the signals in the brain that trigger cough reflex and is generally used as a cough suppressant.
Quinidine affects the way that the heart beats and is generally used to in people with certain heart rhythm disorders.
Nuedexta is used to treat involuntary outbursts of crying or laughing in people with certain neurological disorders.-
Is Nuedexta really just a cough medicine as you stated? Is FDA so ignorant to approve such a simple cough medicine for other efficacy based on the formulation/clinical data? A drug with one active could treat many other symptoms, eg Sildenafil comes to mind... Your statement is very laughable to many who work in the pharmaceutical industry. Please stop these non-sense about cough medicine theory...

With all the different versions of cough medicine I wonder what scientist is working on different versions of Nuedexta to compete with the very small market? How cool would it be to split $10 million in quarterly revenues five or six ways.

It would seem that my covered wagon traveling show cough medicine business was up 25% in new scripts last week. To over1000/NRX ...for a 5k per year treatment.
Sounds like your Avnr retirement plan might need to be put on hold.

Why are many generic drug companies spending millions trying to copy Avanir's "cough elixir"?

Why is the over priced combination of generics not selling? It only costs over $400 per week to help with the uncontrolled laughing and crying that people have been either dealing with or using SSRI's for in the past. These people with TBI, ALZ, MS and other diseases need to start forking over the money to pay for this drug so these pumpers can get rich off of them. I'm sure all these patients have an extra $400 per week to throw away so pumpers can double their money.
