I just read the PR.
So Avanir is doing a study of the prevalence of PBA in traumatic brain injury in the military.
Hopefully, as opposed to PRISM and other Avanir sponsored "polls", physicians familiar with the disease will be interviewing the patients and assessing them for PBA.
Would be nice if these physicians were independent from Avanir but that is not likely given that Avanir is probably paying for the study.
(I guess total operating expenses are going up at least a bit).
Physicians taking care of military veterans with traumatic brain injury should already be familiar with PBA, so I don't see much of a bump to Avanir's sales coming from this project.
Ray, you obviously don't know much about the VA medical system. I think it's great and use it extensively but this would NOT be part of their typical screening process and it's not a problem many macho former military guys would discuss easily.
