Ray, you are recommending that "SSRIs have been used as well as tricyclic antidepressants" to treat PBA successfully (If so, the FDA would like your address). Ray, I guess you did not get the memo that "NUEDEXTA is the first and only FDA-approved treatment for pseudobulbar affect (PBA)."
Ray, why don't you disclose who you are? You are obsessed with Avanir that it's rather alarming! You say you own a small position yet you obsess on Avanir! Why? Are you a former employee? Are you working with the Short Interest?
"I'm curious where the "struggle" was in discussing PBA with veterans with traumatic brain injury or in discussing PBA with a visiting nurse who helps to take care of them.
If you're a stockholder in Avanir, you should disclose that to the nurse and/or the vets, depending on who you are talking to.
Having made the disclosure, you could mention that dex/quin is a treatment that can be useful for those with significant PBA and, to give a balanced presentation, you would need to also mention that SSRIs have been used as well as tricyclic antidepressants.
Then you would simply recommend patients discuss their symptoms with their physician"
