MONTHLY IMS UPDATE:
NUMBER OF NEUDEXTA PILLS DISPENSED UP 3% IN FEBRUARY WITH 11% GROWTH IN RX
Total Nuedexta prescriptions filled in February were up 11%, with 3% growth in the number of pills dispensed in the same month. Recall that a new Medicare restriction on the number of pills dispensed per prescription (“short cycle dispensing”) has lowered the average number of pills dispensed per prescription, which is inflating Rx numbers relative to the absolute count of pills dispensed per month. Thus, 3% pills-dispensed growth is a better measure of organic growth in Nuedexta demand.

always appreciate the straight facts-Thanks again

Thx SRK
Seems like there are at least 2 competing factors in interpreting the 3% month/month growth. Most obvious is there are only 28 days in Feb vs. (effectively) 30 days in January thus tending to mean that the 3% number is artificially low. The other factor is that the January total is artificially low due to the LTC script rule change thereby tending to mean that the 3% number is artificially high.
Comparison of the Feb total to December's rough numbers suggests just under a 6% rise or about 3%/month. So I guess we are right back to the original number.
Only facts
An easier way to look at it is by taking the avg pills sold per week during the two months.
Jan reported on the 4th,11th,18th,25th,and Feb1. Call it five weeks. I have exact pill count per AVNR for those weeks. Avg. was 130K pills per week. In Feb there were four weeks reporting( 8th, 15th, 22nd, and March 1. The avg pill count per week was 150K per week. A substantial improvement and a much better and clearer barometer in my opinion. It was the extra Jan days that made it closer than it really is.
Good luck to all longs
