    Auto bailout SWC moonrocket

Liklihood of auto Industry bailout high = SWC turnaround. Numbers are good. Will continue producing PL cost under $490 OZ and improving.
Like Yamana, low cost producers stay in the game when others close doors. Should rally to $5 by 01-09 IMHO

    • As usual you missed or avoided the whole point of my comment. The point is 'most' consumers are now going to drive their existing cars longer, repair them when needed, and not buy new ones every year or two. And that does make a difference in the total demand.
As for me, if my vehicle breaks down, I will pay to have it repaired. I'm not about to go buy a new one for $1000's when I can repair for $100's. As for an accident, yes I'd probably replace it. But only because it isn't "costing" me. (insurance, you know..)
But I'm not about to go spend thousands when mine is fine & only 5 or 10 years old.(which it isn't)
But the whole point was initially about the situation with the "big 3". Whether 1 or all 3 go 'down' or are bailed out doesn't change the current economic situation and it's effect on new car demand. People don't rush out to buy a new car 'because it's nice to have', during a recession. I'm sure one of the other major auto mfg. can & will eventually pick up the slack.(but not right away - especially if the demand isn't there)
But all that aside for the moment, with this increased auto demand, increased PM demand, and PM supply shortage, what has happened to the price of PD & PT? And more importantly, what has happened to the stk. price of PAL & SWC?? With all these bullish conditions they should be trading at record levels. Well, I guess they are....but it seems to be record "lows".

    • US still has a ban on export of platinum as far as I know?? Yes/no
Then my question is why..I saw on CNBC that platinum is one rare and scarce commodity..All the platinum mined would fit into a livingroom and it takes 2 tons of ore to make a ring???So why is the price down It should be 3000.00 plus based on these facts alone..Is the US holding down the price..and why??? Any answers , please
